Real-Time Safety Inspection and Compliance Management for a Leading Iron Ore Mining Operation

This case study explores how MineOne™ SHERQ helped a leading iron ore mining operation in South Africa digitise and automate safety inspections, compliance audits, hazard management, and corrective action workflows across three operational silos. The organisation faced challenges with paper-based inspections, fragmented audit scheduling, delayed hazard reporting, manual data entry, limited compliance visibility, and disconnected safety and compliance systems. Built using Reactore’s Devum™ low-code application platform, MineOne™ SHERQ introduced automated inspection scheduling, digital checklists, mobile field data capture, offline inspection capability, geofencing, real-time hazard reporting, risk assessment, corrective action management, legal compliance tracking, and centralised safety dashboards. Two-way API integration with ISOmetrix enabled synchronisation of non-conformances and corrective actions between systems. The solution reduced manual inspection cycle time by 98%, reduced field documentation time by 90%, provided real-time safety visibility across operational silos, and enabled automated tracking of Mine Health and Safety Act compliance requirements. The case study demonstrates how digital task, audit, inspection, and compliance management can improve safety oversight, regulatory readiness, operational efficiency, and continuous risk management in mining operations.
